Alice Fleerackers ist Assistenzprofessorin für Journalismus und bürgerschaftliches Engagement am Institut für Medienwissenschaften der Universität Amsterdam. Außerdem ist sie Vizepräsidentin des Global Network for the Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST), wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Scholarly Communications Lab und Mitglied des Redaktionsbeirats des „Journal of Science Communication“ (JCOM). Als (gelegentliche) freiberufliche Autorin verfügt sie über mehr als 12 Jahre Erfahrung im Schreiben für Publikationen wie unter anderem „The Open Notebook“, „Globe and Mail“, „National Post“ und „Nautilus".
