Sociologist with BA and MA degrees in Sociology from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Ukrainian Catholic University. Studied at Charles University in the Czech Republic. Currently, leading the Research Department at the Media Development Foundation, working to identify and explain challenges within the media environment and explore solutions to strengthen independent journalism. Over five years of experience in social research, with the last three focused specifically on Ukraine’s media ecosystem, particularly local journalism. Research consultant for non-profit organizations; co-author of sociology course for journalists and media professionals. Research portfolio includes various media studies projects, such as UNESCO’s Journalist Safety Index, Financing independent media in Ukraine, and the annual State of Local News report. In the News Deserts in Ukraine study, areas of the country lacking access to independent news were mapped.
