Natalie Mayroth works primarily for German-language media. Her expertise ranges from political analyses and environmental to cultural topics and arts in South Asia. She also gives talks and runs workshops, such as at the digital society conference re:publica in Berlin. As Chairwoman of the Indo-German Media Network (IGMN), she promotes intercultural exchange and networking between media professionals from both countries. She holds a M.A. in Culture, Sociology and Iranian Studies from LMU Munich. In the course of her journalistic career, she has received several scholarships and grants – and did programmes at Tsinghua University's School of Communication as well as Asian College of Journalism in Chennai, Symbiosis Univerity Pune, and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She has covered a variety of topics, including subculture in China, coral fostering in the Maldives, the role of the Dalai Lama and arts in South Asia, as well as elections in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. She also provided extensive coverage of the G20 summit in India. Her first book translation „Der Wegbereiter" (The Catalyst) about the German-born art critic Rudolf von Leyden, was published in 2025 with Draupadi Verlag.

In jeweils einer Insel sitzt ein*e Auslandskorrespondent*in aus Afrika, Asien, Nord- oder Südamerika und berichtet über aktuelle politische Ereignisse, derzeitige Recherche aus dem Berichtsgebiet und beantwortet Fragen dazu.
