Miriam Scharlibbe has been a passionate journalist for more than 17 years. She enjoys mediating between the old and new worlds. Starting at a time when the greatest honor for a trainee was to be allowed to build print pages on her own, she now works as an editor-in-chief, focusing primarily on AI and constructive journalism. She has been editor-in-chief of Mannheimer Morgen since August 2025. By January 1, 2026, at the latest, she will also take on overall editorial responsibility for Bergsträßer Anzeiger and Schwetzinger Zeitung as managing editor. Prior to that, she spent four years on the editorial board of the Schleswig-Holstein newspaper publisher sh:z, where she helped shape the digital transformation of 22 daily newspapers. She was also news editor at stern.de and, earlier still, police reporter, political editor, and department head at the Neue Westfälische in Bielefeld. She is a member of the German Press Council.
