Professor Lucy Kueng is an expert on strategy, innovation, and leadership, focusing on how media organizations successfully navigate digital transformation. She is Senior Visiting Research Associate at the Reuters Institute, Oxford University, a Non-Executive Board Member of the NZZ Media Group and Future Insights Board Mediahuis, and a former Board member of Swiss public broadcaster SRG and media tech company VIZRT. Lucy advises leading media companies worldwide on strategy and implementation in times of profound change. Her current work focuses on the rise of the creator economy and Gen AI and their combined implications for classic media. Her forthcoming book, Creator Shift, decodes the creator economy and shows how classic media organizations can build a bridge to it — and lean into the growth opportunities it offers. She has held professorships at the University of Oslo, the Institute for Media and Entertainment in New York (IESE), and the University of Jönköping. She keynotes frequently at international conferences and is the author of several influential books, including Hearts and Minds: Harnessing Leadership, Culture and Talent to Really Go Digital, Going Digital, Innovators in Digital News, Strategic Management in the Media, and Inside the BBC and CNN. She holds a PhD and Habilitation from the University of St Gallen and an MBA from City Business School/Ashridge. In 2020 she received an Honorary PhD in Media Economics from the University of Neuchâtel, and in 2017 she was awarded the European Media Management Award for Excellence in Media Management Scholarship and Practice.
