Prof. Dr. Jakob Vicari (born in 1981) has been a professor at Hochschule Hannover since 2025. He graduated from the German School of Journalism and studied journalism in Munich and Geneva. Vicari is a pioneer in sensor data journalism. In 2018, he co-founded tactile.news in Lüneburg together with Astrid Csuraji – a consultancy for innovative journalism with a focus on dialogue and artificial intelligence. At Hochschule Hannover, he is responsible for data journalism projects in the Bachelor’s programs Moving Image and Online Media (BFO) and Journalism and Online Media (BJO).
