Gemma Terés Arilla (Granollers, 1982) is a German-Spanish journalist who has lived in Berlin since 2004. She works as a freelance correspondent and reporter for print, radio, and television, covering Central and Eastern Europe primarily for Spanish-language media. Previously, she lived in Russia and Belarus, among other places. For over ten years, she has also worked as a freelance political analyst for Deutsche Welle. In 2022, she joined the taz, initially as deputy foreign editor and as a news and feature editor. Since January 2024, she has headed the taz Panter Foundation. Gemma Terés Arilla studied Eastern European Studies at the Free University of Berlin and has been actively involved in various NGOs for many years - with a particular focus on intercultural dialogue, diversity, human rights, and critical journalism.
