Gemma Terés Arilla (Granollers, 1982) is a German-Spanish journalist who has been based in Berlin since 2004. She works as a freelance correspondent and reporter for print, radio, and television, mainly reporting on Central and Eastern Europe for Spanish-speaking media. She has also lived in Russia and Belarus. For over ten years, she has worked as a freelance political analyst for Deutsche Welle. In 2022, she joined taz, first as deputy foreign editor and news/features editor, and became the director of the taz Panter Foundation in January 2024. She studied Eastern European Studies at Freie Universität Berlin (FU) and has been active in various NGOs, with a strong commitment to intercultural dialogue, diversity, human rights, and critical journalism.
