Esmat Jeraj is the Director of Programmes at The Guardian Foundation, which seeks to promote press freedom and access to liberal journalism through its work on news and media literacy, voice and agency and media viability. She is a recognised leader in equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a track record of designing impactful social mobility programmes across media, education, and civil society. Esmat works to amplify underrepresented voices, reshape narratives around marginalised communities, and drive lasting structural change within institutions.
