Dennis Chiponda was born in Lusatia in 1991 as the son of contract workers. He moved to the west to study, where he first discovered his East German identity – an experience that soon led him back to the east in frustration. This experience prompted him to initially engage politically with issues such as racism, East Germany, and classism. Today, he hosts the podcast “Mauerecho – Ost trifft West” (Wall Echo – East Meets West), which is supported by the taz Panter Foundation. There, he works as a journalist on his topics and promotes better understanding between East and West with personal stories and diverse perspectives – with the aim of breaking down the “wall in people's minds.”
