Defne Altıok is a digital journalist at +90, a DW sponsored project developed with VOA, BBC, and France 24 as part of the international broadcasters' aim to create bespoke content and provide young Turkish audiences. She began her career in data-driven journalism and started to work at DW as a part of its journalism traineeship programme in 2018. She is currently writing, editing, producing, and hosting for +90's social media channels to further constructive and data-driven journalism in Turkey. She is also a fellow of London School of Economic's JournalismAI Programme 2023, where she develops an AI-based tool with other international organisations to detect bias and discrimination in text.
