Constructive transformation thrives when we move beyond selective improvements and embrace a holistic approach. Consider aspects such as knowledge transfer, corporate culture, journalistic practices, and organizational planning. In this session, media leaders who have successfully guided newsrooms toward a constructive future will share practical lessons. The panel will feature Manuela Kasper-Claridge, editor-in-chief of Germany’s international broadcaster DW, who has spearheaded innovative initiatives, including the launch of the first-ever in-house constructive journalism fellowship in 2023. Also joining the panel is Tina Rosenberg, co-founder of the Solutions Journalism Network, which has helped more than 600 newsrooms worldwide adopt a solutions-focused approach over the past decade. The session will be moderated by Lisa Urlbauer, Head of Journalism Training at the Bonn Institute.
