Vanessa Bitter studied journalism and political science in Mainz and, after various positions in media, PR, and advertising, joined the German Press Agency (dpa) in Hamburg. From 2018 to 2023, she was marketing manager responsible for, among other things, dpa's digital corporate channels. Since 2021, she has also been involved in projects for the news literacy initiative #UseTheNews and, as project manager, coordinated the “Year of News” in 2024. She has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) at #UseTheNews since 2025.
