Tetiana Gordiienko is a senior researcher at NGO Media Development Foundation (MDF) and academic director at Kyiv Media School. She is a PhD candidate at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy School of Journalism in Kyiv, Ukraine. She spent two years as a visiting scholar at the Brian Lamb School of Communication, Purdue University. Her research interests focus on media consumption and new media during crises. She has also contributed to major non-academic studies, aimed at assessing the safety of journalists in Ukraine, media resilience, donor dependency, and sustainable support models for independent journalism.

News Deserts in Ukraine: Launching New Media Startups in De-occupied Regions of Ukraine
