I was born in Rangamati District, a hilly region of Bangladesh, and spent my childhood and adolescence in that town. I then moved to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, for higher education. After completing my studies, I chose journalism as my career: Because I believe that journalism is a very important profession in terms of connecting with people and understanding a society. Before joining Deutsche Welle as a multimedia journalist, I worked for multiple Bangladeshi news media: Independent Television, News24 Television, Newsbangla24.com and Daily Kaler Kantho. My areas of interest are politics, human rights, immigration, migrants and refugees, the environment and international relations. Apart from hosting the show ‘‘Amader Kotha Amra Boli'', I also like to work on migration.
