Stephan Hackenbroch, originally from Münsterland, works as a freelance reporter and author for WDR. Except for his traineeship at a local radio station in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), he has always worked freelance. In addition to his work with local radio stations in the Münsterland region, he has also contributed to dpa and n-tv.
Stephan has been a full member of the WDR Staff Council for four years and has served as Chairman of the Freelance Committee since spring 2024. He is currently negotiating a new fee framework with WDR on behalf of the DJV (German Federation of Journalists).
