Silke Bender is employed at GLS Bank in Bochum, which focuses on social and ecological issues. Since 2021, she has served as the press spokesperson and responsible editor of the GLS Bank digital magazine ( blog.gls.de ). Prior to this, she held various press spokesperson roles at the Press Office of the City of Herne, the German Journalists' Association (NRW) and the Innovation City climate city project. She honed her journalistic skills at WAZ, now Funke Medien, completing her traineeship there before working as a daily newspaper editor. Silke Bender holds a Master's degree in English, American Studies and Political Science. She has been leading yoga courses for nearly 25 years and has been playing the clarinet for the past 5 years.
