Born in the late hippie turmoil of the early 1970s, Ralph Caspers spent most of his childhood in front of the television and still spends most of his time there today. As an author and presenter, he works for “Die Sendung mit der Maus” (

). He writes nonfiction and children's books and is an ambassador for the UN Decade of Biodiversity, the Blue Angel eco-label, and the German Children's Hospice Association. He also supports many other non-profit organizations. He has received numerous prizes and awards for his work and commitment, including the Prix Jeunesse International, the Golden Sparrow, the Erich Kästner Television Prize, the Grimme Prize, and the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany.
