Carsten Reinemann is a professor of communication studies at the Institute for Communication Studies and Media Research (IfKW) and dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at LMU Munich. He studied journalism, political science, and psychology in Mainz, where — after a brief employment at the University of Leipzig — he earned his doctorate (2003) and completed his habilitation (2008). His current research and teaching focus on the use and perception of political media coverage, trust in the media, freedom of expression, and the potential of AI for political communication.
