Polina Bachlakova is Fuller’s tech correspondent based in Copenhagen with over a decade of experience in the industry. Before joining The Fuller Project, she primarily covered feminist issues as a freelance reporter for media such as the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, Al Jazeera, the BBC, openDemocracy and taz. Back in the day, Polina also worked as a staff writer at VICE Denmark. Polina is a Fellow of 2024’s European Collaborative Journalism Programme, and has received multiple grants from Journalismfund and IJ4EU for her cross-border investigations. Human Rights Watch have used her reporting on sex work in their advocacy initiatives, and she has been invited to speak about her work at institutions such as the Centre for Investigative Journalism. Before focusing on journalism, Polina was a feminist activist. She was a board member at The Red Van, a sex workers’ rights NGO in Copenhagen, as well as at Bedside Productions, an association organizing around sex positivity and queer visibility. Polina speaks fluent Russian, English and French, and is getting there with Danish.
