Paula Weber is a media educator at the Salon5 youth editorial team in Dortmund. Paula believes it’s important for everyone to have easy access to journalism and wants to encourage young people to launch their own projects — on topics that interest them. For Salon5, Paula designs and leads workshops on journalism and media literacy. She works closely with youth reporters from her hometown of Dortmund and the Ruhr region, organizes creative recreational activities and events, and develops new formats and learning materials for the young target audience. Since September 2025, she has been leading the pilot project “Salon5 FaktenChecker – Youth Against Disinformation.” Using a peer-to-peer approach, young people learn to recognize disinformation on social media more quickly and pass on their fact-checking skills to other young people through educational videos and fact-checking reels.
