Omid Rezaee is an Iranian journalist and currently an intern at ZEIT. He has worked as a freelance writer for taz, Tagesspiegel, SPIEGEL, ZEIT ONLINE, and others. In 2012, he left his homeland after spending several months in prison due to his journalistic and political activities. Until the end of 2014, he reported from Iraq, mainly on the war against the so-called Islamic State, until he came to Germany in 2015. He headed the editorial team of the multilingual news portal Amal in Hamburg and completed the Master's program in Digital Journalism at the Hamburg Media School.
