Prof. Dr. Nayla Fawzi is a professor of communication studies with a focus on democracy and digital communication at the Institute of Journalism at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Since 2022, she has headed the Emmy Noether Junior Research Group "Alienation between Population, Media and Politics? Media and political disenchantment from audience and elite perspectives." Previously, she was a research associate at LMU Munich.
