Mika Beuster is chief reporter at the media company VRM Mittelhessen. The local journalist has been a member of the federal executive committee of the German Journalists' Association since 2019 and has been its chairman since November 2023. There, he is passionately committed to strengthening the journalism profession and fighting for freedom of the press. For him, journalism is not just a job like any other, but rather the fourth estate, a cornerstone of democracy and thus an important social function. His motivation: especially in times of disinformation, war propaganda, and attacks on reporters, journalists are needed as predators of fake news.
