Melis Içten-Löffler was born in Germany in the 1990s as a second-generation child of a Turkish guest worker family. During her master's degree in Anglophone Studies and Literature and Media Practice, she gained some experience in cultural and local journalism and participated in the mentoring program @Ruhrgebiet of the Neue deutsche Medienmacher:innen. Since 2021 she has been working as a social media editor and for over a year additionally as a host for the Instagram channel "Migratöchter" (Migrant Daughters). Outside of work, she is passionate about traditional Anatolian folk dancing.
