From 1994 to 2014, he traveled as a freelance journalist in Central Asia, the Caucasus, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Bensmann was involved in the CORRECTIV investigation "Geheimplan gegen Deutschland" He is the author of the book about the AfD published by Galiani Verlag in 2024, titled "Niemand kann sagen, er hätte es nicht gewusst - die ungeheuerlichen Pläne der AfD."
