Katie is the deputy editor at The Bureau of Investigative Journalism where she works with her teams on investigations that expose abuse and holds power to account. Before joining the bureau she worked as a producer and director for BBC Current Affairs, where she made investigative and undercover films. She has worked throughout Africa and the Middle East. Her focus has been on stories from under-reported and disadvantaged communities. She previously worked as a producer for Al Jazeera English News in Qatar. Working on a range of stories from the rise of extremism in Nigeria to the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone, an investigation into racism in the British Army and a GLAAD-nominated film about the oppression of gender non-conformists in Nigeria.
