Guido Déus (born 1968) has been Mayor of the Federal City of Bonn since November 1, 2025. A public finance graduate, Déus has held various public administration positions, most recently at the Federal Agency for Real Estate (BIMA), where he led the Press/Communications/Marketing division and served as press spokesperson. From 2017 until his election as Mayor of Bonn, Déus was a member of the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. He has been a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) since 1987 and served on the Bonn City Council from 1999 to 2025. From 2004 to 2020, he was a member of the Beuel District Council and served as district mayor of the Beuel district from 2014 to 2020. From 2020 to 2025, he was chairman of the CDU council faction in Bonn. In his role as mayor, Déus aims to pragmatically implement innovative solutions to the challenges of our time, while placing the needs of Bonn’s residents at the center of his work.
