Gordian Fritz has been a TV journalist and reporter for 25 years. After college, he worked for ProSieben, SAT1, SPIEGEL TV and MDR before joining RTL in 2004. At the RTL regional studio in Leipzig he was a writer and reporter for NEWS Magazine, RTL Aktuell, RTL Nachtjournal and the news channel n-tv. From 2011 to 2017, he was also editorial director at the regional studio.

Since 2017, he has been at the RTL headquarters in Cologne. First as editorial lead of the lunchtime news magazine Punkt 12 until 2018 when he took over the management of the RTL reporter pool and was responsible for the management and training of live reporters.

In addition to these activities, Gordian has been an international correspondent since 2010. In this capacity, he has reported on many major news events, such as the earthquake in Haiti, the tsunami in Japan, the civil wars in Libya and Syria, the U.S. elections and the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Since February 24, 2022, he has been on assignment primarily as a war correspondent in Ukraine, where he regularly reports from the front lines.

For many years, Gordian has been intensively involved in constructive and solutions-oriented journalism.

In addition to producing his own constructive content, he is tasked with developing and expanding such content at RTL News. This includes offering trainings at the RTL School of Journalism and the RTL Academy as well as advising reporters and editorial teams on finding and implementing solutions-oriented content.
