Friederike Sittler has been the head of Deutschlandradio’s Berlin studio since January 2026. Prior to that, she was the head of the Culture and Politics Background Department at Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Before joining Deutschlandradio, the journalist was in charge of the Society and Religion Department at rbb, among other responsibilities. Friederike Sittler studied Catholic theology, political science, and communication studies. Until 2025, the theologian served as the volunteer chair of the "Journalistinnenbund".
