Dr. Frauke Fischer is a biologist, entrepreneur, consultant, author, and expert in biodiversity. She studied biology in Frankfurt and the USA, and earned her PhD from the University of Würzburg, focusing on kob antelopes in Côte d'Ivoire. She led a research station there but returned to Germany in 2002 due to the civil war. In 2003, she founded Germany's first management consultancy specialising in biodiversity, and in 2015, she established PERÚ PURO, a company that supports small-scale farmers in Peru. She has received multiple awards, including the Albrecht Fürst zu Castell-Castell Prize and the German Environmental Media Award. Additionally, she is active as an author, podcaster, and speaker.
