Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen (born in 1967) studied medicine and science journalism in Berlin, London, and Heidelberg. His specialty: conveying medical content in a humorous way. He provides lasting inspiration that sticks: on television, as a non-fiction author, at conferences, or as a keynote speaker. For him, “planetary health” means giving top priority to protecting our natural resources and ensuring a future fit for our grandchildren. To this end, he founded the Healthy Earth – Healthy People Foundation in 2020 and published the book “Mensch Erde – Wir könnten es so schön haben” (Human Earth – We could have it so good). He hosts “Was kann der Mensch?” (What Can Humans Do?), “Wissen vor 8 – Erde” (Knowledge Before 8 – Earth), and numerous documentaries for ARD. Eckart von Hirschhausen is an honorary member of the Charité faculty, a member of the Sustainability Advisory Board of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, a member of the Club of Rome, and an honorary professor in Marburg. He lives in Berlin, is married, Protestant, and has not given up hope for positive change.
