Dr. Stefan Lock is the head of the Regional Representation of the European Commission in Bonn, covering the states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland. Before, Stefan was involved in development cooperation programmes of the European Commission and the United Nations, including in Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Laos, and Uganda, as well as in Brussels and in New York. He studied sociology and political science and earned his doctorate in political science.
