Cristina Helberg works as a freelance journalist and trainer for research and verification. Her research focuses on social inequality, abuse of power and disinformation on the net. Previously, she worked for the non-profit newsroom CORRECTIV and studied Latin American studies and social sciences in Cuba and Cologne. She completed her journalism training at the Reportageschule Reutlingen and further training in investigative research at Columbia University in New York. She has received various awards for her work, including "Top 30 to 30" journalist from Medium magazine and the Helmut Schmidt Fellowship for critical-constructive business journalism.
