Catherine Wanjeri Kariuki is a Kenyan journalist for Kameme FM and Kameme TV (Mediamax) in Nakuru. She gained international attention on July 16, 2024, when she was deliberately shot in the thigh with a rubber bullet by police while covering anti-government protests in Nakuru. For her courageous work, she was awarded the Freedom Warrior Award by the Kenya Editors Guild in 2024.
