Ann-Kathrin Horn works as a freelance news and science journalist for Deutschlandfunk Nova and WDR. She hosts a climate podcast on Deutschlandfunk Nova. Her work and research adhere to important journalistic standards—but how do people “out there” become aware of this and know which content they can trust? To better communicate exactly that, Ann-Kathrin Horn has been working part-time since 2018 for the media literacy organization Lie Detectors, which sends journalists to schools on a volunteer basis to teach students how to spot fake news online, how challenging it is to portray the world as accurately as possible through journalism, and what rules apply.
