Anja Backhaus studied political science, German language and literature, and history at the University of Cologne. She has lived in Cologne for 30 years and works as a TV and radio host at WDR. Her work focuses on cultural and sociopolitical topics. She currently hosts the weekly cultural program “Neugier genügt” and the “WDR 5 Media Magazine” on WDR 5. She is also known for her versatile hosting of events, stage shows, and panel discussions. With her passion and entertaining style, she manages to engage the audience with every topic discussed on stage.
