Alexander von Harling studied political science, journalism, and philosophy in Göttingen and attended the German School of Journalism in Munich. He has worked as an author for newspapers, radio, and television stations. Since 1998, he has been an author and editor for Südwestrundfunk (SWR), most recently serving as the programme director of the ARD digital channel EinsPlus. Since the end of 2016, Alexander von Harling has been the Head of the Knowledge Department at ARTE G.E.I.E. in Strasbourg.
