Adrian Pourviseh was born in Koblenz in 1995. He studied Oriental Studies in Marburg and Rabat, and Development Economics at Lund University in Sweden. In 2015, he began working as a translator for young refugees alongside his studies. In 2019, he joined the Sea-Watch 3 as a photographer and volunteered on the island of Lesbos. In his graphic novel debut, "Das Schimmern der See" (engl. "The Shimmer of the Sea") he recounts his experiences on a sea rescue mission in the summer of 2021.
