Media are struggling against rising global authoritarianism, and there has been a decline in international cooperation on freedom of expression and free and independent media. The EU is committed to continue its support. Through the Team Europe Democracy (TED) Initiative it coordinates activities between the EU institutions and the Member States to support media and safeguard information integrity.
