Riccardo Vaccaro works as a host, reporter, and science journalist for ARD. He serves as a host for “Quarks,” ARD’s largest science program. He also helped develop Quarks’ TikTok channel and has produced nearly 600 videos to date. In these videos, he explains complex scientific topics in an understandable, humorous, and relatable way, reaching hundreds of thousands to millions of viewers. Riccardo Vaccaro can also be heard regularly on the radio, including on the program “WDR 5 Quarks – Wissenschaft und mehr” and on the podcast “Quarks Daily,” where he explains psychological topics. In addition, he worked as a field reporter for the ARD/ZDF Mediathek series “Der Fall.” Alongside his journalistic work, he is an author and publishes content on scientific and psychological topics for a broad audience. In 2025, he published the children’s book “Meine Angst ist mein Freund” (“My Fear Is My Friend”), which sensitively addresses the topic of fear. In 2021, he wrote his master’s thesis and conducted research on “The Influence of Parasocial Interaction and Relationships on the Perceived Credibility of TV Science Presenters, using ‘Quarks’ as an Example.”
