Christina Feist is a freelance journalist specializing in international affairs and culture, with a passion for crisis reporting and stories that are rarely told. In 2019, she was the only Austrian journalist on the ground providing live coverage of the fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. On October 9, 2019, Feist survived the far-right terrorist attack in Halle, Germany. Since then, she has increasingly written about the long-term effects of trauma and leads workshops on responsible reporting and trauma-informed approaches to working with those affected. In 2026, she is developing a toolkit for trauma journalism as a Future of News Fellow at Media Lab Bayern . Christina Feist currently lives in Paris.
