I'm a Berlin-based journalist, film-maker and translator. My journalism has appeared in Deutsche Welle, the Guardian, Prospect, the New Statesman, Vice, 100Reporters, the Berlin Policy Journal and elsewhere. I've also written in German for der Freitag, Vice, Dummy, Fluter, Froh, and der Wedding. In 2026, I published my first book in German at the Büchner Verlag - Wir müssen alle sterben - which is about climate grief, prepping, and the fear of extinction, and is based on my first documentary, entitled "We're All Going To Die", which came out in 2024. In 2021, AP published my investigation into corruption in the Chinese healthcare system, which I did with the US investigative group 100Reporters and support from the McGraw Fellowship for Business Journalism. My feature articles have been about things like German arms makers in the Black Forest, eco-terrorists in Berlin, zoophilia in Essen, pagan cults in Brandenburg, illegal fishing in Sierra Leone, Oktoberfest in Palestine, the mystery of the Stalin statue in Georgia, and other things up to and including colonic irrigation. My monthly German politics column came out under the name Konrad Werner in Exberliner magazine for 16 years.
